Water cuts remain a source of friction on the island as the tourist industry is demanding full access to water supplies.
Many hotels are preparing to welcome their first batch of visitors as the early stages of the summer season starts in all Cyprus resorts.
The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Antonis Paschalides said that many tourists had already arrived in Cyprus and hotels were full or fully booked.
He made clear that he was not in favour of the water cuts, adding that some people had being overreacting to the current measures being taken.
Paschalides added that there are proposals to be put in place so the hotel industry would not be adversely affected.
He also said that estimates suggest that 2008 will be a very good year for Cyprus tourism, both during the summer and winter season.
