TRAVEL GAZETTE – Romania will regard Russia as a key market in formulating its tourism strategy which seeks to attract more foreigners, President of the National Tourism Authority Anca Pavel-Nedea has said at a press conference.
Romanian tourism authority will soon launch a promotion campaign on the Russian market with holiday packages focused on health, wellness and cosmetic tourism, a move to diversify its tourism products which had already included tours to mountainous and seaside resorts, according to the official.
According to her, health, wellness and cosmetic tourism products are popular with Russians, who are particularly interested in anti-ageing treatments and complex aesthetic treatments.
“Romania’s asset is its positioning and the fact that some regional tourism markets have fell. We are standing a chance of getting some of the market,” the official added.
According to local analysts, after the downing of a Russian warplane by Turkish forces, Russian tourists who planned to visit Turkey could make Romania an alternative tourist destination.
