TRAVEL GAZETTE – THE Piale Pasha District of Larnaca in Cyprus has had a complete facelift – and the Travel Gazette has been to take a look!
The entire seafront in Larnaca is now enjoying a renaissance with café, pubs and restaurants doing brisk business – with both locals and tourists.
Weekends are especially popular – and the fort – which stands between the Piale Pasha area and Finikoudes .
The area now boasts bicycle lanes, paths, parks, green spaces, landscaping and works to protect the road from sea erosion.
The project, which began in September 2012 and completed this year, was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
The total cost of the works was 10 million euros.
