Probe begins into Nepal air crash

TRAVEL GAZETTE – The Nepalese government has  formed a five-member probe commission to investigate the Tara Air crash that killed all 23 people on board.

Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation formed the commission under the coordination of Rajesh Raj Dali, former director general of Civil Aviation

Authority of Nepal, a regulatory body of Nepal’s aviation sector.
Other members of the committee include Nepal Army Colonel Deepak Bastola, Nepal Airlines Senior Captain Shrawan Rijal, Simrik Airlines Engineering Director Ram Prasad Koirala and Ministry’s Joint Secretary Suresh Acharya.

Acharya said the commission has been given 90 days to submit its report.

According to him, the commission would investigate details about the weather condition, technical condition of the aircraft, training received by the pilots, among others.

A Twin Otter of Tara Air (9N-AHH) with 20 passengers and three crew aboard crashed in Dana village of western Myagdi district earlier in the day.
