Second air crash in Nepal reported, emergency services head to scene

TRAVEL GAZETTE – An aircraft belonging to Kasthamandap Air has crashed in far western Nepal on Friday noon, local media reported.

The aircraft was bound to remote Jumla district with nine people on board, according to Xinhua.  More detail is yet to be ascertained, but personnel from the Nepal police are heading toward the incident site. The Himalayan Times reported that Kalikot District Police Office confirmed the accident.A Tara Air plane crashed in Nepal earlier this week killing 19 people.

The Twin Otter flew into the mountainside shortly after taking off on a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom.

Most of those on board were Nepalis. The bodies are being returned to their families in Pokhara, Kathmandu and Jomsom.
