TRAVEL GAZETTE – Pennsylvania’s economy is benefiting from domestic tourism, reports WITF.

The station reports that 2014 is the most recent year tourism statistics have been finalized for Pennsylvania and it was a banner year.

Nearly $40 billion in spending by about 193 million international and domestic travelers, both record numbers cited by Carrie Lepore with the Department of Community & Economic Development.

“That’s everything from entertainment, lodging, food, gas; all of those things,” she said.
