Rescuers have found seven bodies, victims of a sunken boat in the western part of Indonesia, a disaster agency official said on Sunday.
The incident took place at Begawan Solo river situated at the borders of Lamongan district and Tuban district of East Java province on Friday, said Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the disaster management agency.
“All the bodies of the missing persons have been retrieved,” Sutopo told Xinhua.
Previously, 18 other passengers of the boat were evacuated safely, he added.
Over-loading was blamed for the incident, Sutopo added.
Boat is a favorite means of transport in the archipelagic nation, but lacking of safety standard has often triggered accidents.
