Paphos to host major tourism conferences

PAPHOS in Cyprus is set to host two major conferences on tourism, which will attract over 1,000 participants from the United Kingdom.

The conferences, which take place over the next few weeks, will see tour giant Thomas Cook along with Jet 1 and Jet 2 Holidays hold workshops on the island.

According to the Cyprus Tourism Organistation (CTO) those taking part will be briefed about the local tourism product.

Marina Mylona from the CTO said some 660 delegates will arrive in Paphos for the Thomas Cook conference, among them travel agents and other senior executives from the tourism industry.

The participants will visit the port of Paphos and will attend formal dinners, the Cyprus News Agency reported.

Mylona also said that a number of 250 participants are expected to attend from “Jet 1” and “Jet 2 Holidays” who will also take part in workshops and seminars about Cyprus as a tourist destination.
