The sixth European Food Festival is scheduled to be held at the National Cultural Hall in Lao capital Vientiane on May 6.
The festival aims to celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the European Union Foundation Day or Europe Day. More than 30 European restaurateurs and food vendors will be joining the festivities, EU Ambassador to Laos Leo Faber said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The festival will help promote cultural cooperation and tourism in Vientiane and will include numerous activities, especially concerning food, with various food stalls designed to match each country’s most notable characteristics.
The first European Food Festival was launched in 2012 to mark Europe Day. It is the anniversary of the European Union Foundation and is celebrated each year all over the World. Last year, the event attracted more than 2,000 people.
The culinary event is organized under a joint initiative of the European Union Delegation, the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and will showcase the diverse, rich and well–loved cuisine of the continent, said the ambassador.
