The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said Tuesday that Emiratis holding ordinary passports are now exempt from pre-entry visas to travel to Argentina, state news agency WAM reported.

Ahmed Elham Al-Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the ministry, said that the diplomatic note received from its Argentine counterpart indicates that the exemption is effective since May 16, with the possibility of UAE citizens travelling to Argentina to stay for up to 90 days.

Al-Dhaheri added that this move from the Argentine government reflects the prominent international status that the UAE has attained, opening up further horizons for its citizens, as well as the growing bilateral relations “across various sectors including tourism, investment and trade.”
