The number of passengers travelling into and out of Albania by air has seen a significant growth this year, registering an increase of 22 percent over last year, Albania’s Institute of Statistics (Instat) has said.
Over 700,000 passengers used international air transport to enter or exit Albania in the first four months of 2017, an Instat report showed.
Experts here said that the number of flight passengers would increase further.
During 2016, the number of passengers who passed through Tirana International Airport was 2.14 million, up 8.2 percent compared with 2015, statistics showed.
Meanwhile, for the first four months of 2017, Instat said that the number of foreign visitors to Albania increased by 13 percent compared with the same period of 2016.
Currently, 15 different airlines operate through the Tirana airport, which logged around 7,000 flights in the first four months of this year.
