Two cases of legionella have been reported, Malta’s Environmental Health Department said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The statement said that one case was registered in a private establishment and another patient contracted the illness from a home in a village.

A number of test results relating to these cases are being carried out.

Legionella, is normally linked to poorly maintained air-conditioning and water

According to local media, the Malta Independent Online, a few weeks ago it was reported that a Mount Carmel patient had died of the disease.
