Korean tourists rescued from icy Slovenian lake

A group of Korean tourists had to be rescued from the icy Lake Bled in Slovenia after they met with a serious boat accident on Friday morning.

According to the Slovenian Press Agency STA, the group of ten tourists boarded a boat to take a trip on the lake, but got into trouble as soon as they pushed out into the water.

A pair of them fell into the cold water while trying to push the boat. As those on board jumped to their rescue, the boat leaned on one side.

All passengers have been brought safely ashore and three of them are being treated for hypothermia. Slovenian authorities said that no one’s condition was life threatening.

The police said the accident happened at a spot where the lake is two and a half meters deep.

It had been snowing heavily in the Bled region when the accident happened. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
