The number of employees in the tourism sector in Albania for this season has reached a total of 15,000 employees, Vasilika Vjero, General Director of Taxation in Albania, said on Thursday.
Vjero attended a meeting with representatives of the institutions directly involved in the running of the tourist season.
According to Vjero, tourism is one of the most important sectors in the growth of the Albanian economy with a direct impact on employment and income growth.
Vasilika Vjero, underlined that there are 15,000 employees in the tourism sector, mainly in the coastal areas of Albania.
The highest number of people employed is Durres region, followed by Vlora and Saranda, which has now turned into tourist destination.
