Indonesian police have arrested 21 terrorist suspects in various provinces in the past month ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday season.

The police chief said some of the suspects were members of the banned homegrown terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah.

After extracting information from the arrested suspects, Tito said so far there has been no credible threat of terrorist attacks in the upcoming holiday season.

To ensure security of the holiday season, Indonesian police would deploy 94,946 personnel at worship places and public tourism spots in the annual “Operation Candle” from Dec. 22 to Jan. 2 next year.
