The number of tourists in North Macedonia increased by 16.6 percent in June, the country’s Statistical Office (SSO) said in a report on Monday.
According to the SSO official data, the number of tourists in June was 119,334 and the number of nights spent in the country by the tourists was 264,821.
The number of tourists and the nights spent in North Macedonia in June increased respectively by 16.6 and 8.9 percent year-on-year.
The report showed that in this period, the number of domestic tourists in June increased by 15.7 percent, whereas the number of foreign tourists by 16.9 percent.
Meanwhile, the number of nights spent by domestic and foreign tourists in June increased respectively by 7.2 and 9.6 percent year-on-year.
During the first half of 2019, compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists increased by 4 percent, whereas the number of nights spent in North Macedonia by 2.1 percent.
In this period the number of domestic tourists registered a bigger increase compared to foreign ones, respectively by 5.2 and 3.5 percent.
