Ryanair has handled a total of 14.8 million passengers in July, up 9 percent compared with the same month in 2018.

The figure included 600,000 passengers carried by Lauda, an Austria-based subsidiary acquired by Ryanair last year, which represented a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.

Ryanair said that its load factor or the occupancy rate of each flight for July stood at 97 percent, adding that more than 81,000 scheduled flights were operated by the company in the month.

Headquartered in Ireland, Ryanair is the largest budget airline in Europe with a fleet of nearly 500 aircraft, which mainly offer flight services within Europe and North Africa.

In the last fiscal year ending on March 31, 2019, the airline carried a total of 142 million passengers, up 9 percent over the previous fiscal year, according to the figures posted on its website.
